Essentials

The Croydon Pirates Baseball Club was established in 1981. In 2025, we have adult teams in the National Baseball League (top league), Triple-A, Double-A, and two teams in Single-A. Their schedules can be found here. We also offer youth baseball, the Croydon Parrots. We're a welcoming and inclusive club of dedicated and talented players from all over the world. We also run a Baseball for Beginners programme to help new players with the fundamentals of the game.

Our home ground is at the Roundshaw Playing Fields in Croydon, a city at the southern edge of London, UK. We have two purpose-built baseball diamonds within the playing fields; one of which was named Dave Ward Field in 2012, respectfully dedicated to a former player from our club's storied history.

New players of any skill level, including beginners, are always welcome to get in touch and come to a training session. We are a diverse, inclusive club, providing opportunities to play baseball to both men and women, boys and girls.

For more information on the rules of British baseball and how the British Baseball Federation operates, please visit the official BBF website.
Our Ballpark
Our home games and practice sessions take place on the two baseball diamonds within Roundshaw Playing Fields.
Access to both can be found at the end of Hannibal Way, which is a short distance off the A23, Purley Way.
(Please note, the Roundshaw Playing Fields are not in the same location as Purley Way Playing Fields, but a minute or two's drive from there.)

At the end of Hannibal Way is an access gate onto the fields, next to the pavilion. Follow the footpath around the football field for 2 mins and you will see the fenced diamond on your left, and the open diamond on your right.

Parking:
We advise you to park on Hannibal Way near the GOALS centre and walk the rest of the way. Adjacent to the pavilion is a parking lot, but as this lot is a private and ticketed part of the David Lloyd Gym, it is advised you do not enter. Please respect the hatch marks and local residents as access for emergency services is paramount.

Transit:
The nearest train stations are Wallington and Waddon, with East Croydon being the closest National Rail station hub. The 157 and 154 buses pass along Stafford Road from West Croydon and Crystal Palace, while the 119, 289, 663 and 455 provide nearby service from Bromley North, Elmer's End and Morden. Alternatively you can take buses that drop you off by the Croydon Aerodrome Airport or Costco, where there is an interconnecting walkway toward the field.
